The idea for this site came to me while assisting my nephew Michael through college.

Many years ago when I went to school at a major university I worked summers at minimum wage jobs and managed to save enough money to pay books, tuition, rent and food for 4 years. I finished my degree in 1969, and I didn't have one nickle of student loan debt.

Today's college students can't do this. Our government at the state and national level have failed to provide the kind of assistance to students that enabled people like me to go 4 years to a major university and graduate debt free.

So this site is designed to provide hints and tips to students to help them minimize their student loans and to make smart choices if they have to take out a student loan.
